I know that there are some of competitive exams like MAT, CAT etc which we can give after completing our graduation but if i want to change my field then what are the other available options.

For e.g - I have completed my graduation in commerce and want to do masters but that should not be related to accounts, economics etc. If you have any suggestions then please share here.

Hello Vivek,

I am not sure of your interests in education i.e is it for a job(career) or just you want to perceive it for your satisfaction.

Any how based on your exposure in graduation towards accounts and instincts towards MBA in future plans. I recommend the following courses which are not related to accounts and economics but still have potential options for career and also social interactivity.

M.A. in Mass Communication

MCA (Master of Computer Applications)

M.A. in Tourism Management

Master of Personnel Management and Industrial Relations

M.A. in Public Administration.

and many more.

Thanks and all the best.....

respected sir,

i'm doing m.tech in manufacturing engg it will complete on may 2012... i wanted to take IES exam will u please tel me which book is better to prepare for the exam??? when will be the exam?? how to apply for that???? my email id: lbharath008@gmail.com

Hello Bharath, as per my knowledge, IES has only four subjects among the available branches in Engg. VIZ, civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics. So each subject requires a diff book for study. For IES exam schedule etc you may check UPSC website for better info as they conduct the exam.

bcz. may aim was to be an engineer, bt bcz of some family problem i cant go for it...

bheem Hub Author 6 months ago

Hello Priyanka, You got a nice ambition and your query is also at right time. If you have intention for higher studies you may try in fields of your interests like management (MBA), law, computer applications (MCA)etc.

You can work in good companies at good positions if you have some diverse education backgrounds with your present degree.

For example any big company will have issues to comply the rules and regulations, to maintain intellectual property rights, file patents etc. to enhance its growth.

So a person with regular education and having a law degree will be suitable in this place.

Also trying to develop your communication skills and exposure to training related programmes happening around your city will help in gaining more exposure and also building up contacts for your smooth entry to into desired industry.

Hope this helps.....

Hi,

right now iam in 4th sem. of E.C and i want do some jobs or any competitive exams so that i can make my resume good during job selection. and then go abroad for further study. cud u please help tat in wat manner sud i proceed further?

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 4 months ago

Hi Govind!

Its quiet common that now for going abroad you need a good GRE or TOFEL score. Also a good research experience with a scientific publication will be a plus for abroad studies.

For job with better package, more than your academic scores you need extra skills in computing like webdesign etc., robotics & good communication skills.

So for good research experience I would suggest IISC or IIT's for vocational training.

IISc Bangalore offers two months (during summers) of training with a small fellowship for enthusiasts during their graduation. Check similar options like these on the web.

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 3 months ago

Hello Amita! nice that you got a graduation in arts. You might have known that in India graduation qualification entitles one to try for even the best Govt. jobs like civil services.

I don't know what are your levels of aspiration among Govt. jobs. But presently there are many vacancies coming up from govt sector both at central and state levels.

I think you must get into some job first of what ever sort instead of being idle. Then keep regular watch on sarkauri naukri sites and news papers for govt. vacancies.

Also be prepared with general knowledge updates regularly. Because most of the govt. jobs tests and entrances have a paper on general knowledge.

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 3 months ago

Hello shashwati!Since you have Graduation in zoology, you may opt for research in your field..It is a very time taking process with instability and insecurity..

or else

you can try for any govt job from state services to union or central levels services. After few trials you may surely land into some job...

Time is a very important and decisive factor in today's competitive world...

Mery in questions ka answer jaldi dejiyga....

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 3 months ago

@ samriddhi!

Your query is interesting. The answer to your questions are as follows

1. Bio students can give the exam 100% (dey sakthey hi jaroor)

2. There are many subjects. For list of subjects check UPSC site or any civils exam guide site for list of subjects. IF not check a old employment news paper preferably in the month of December for details of subjects.

3. English is not mandatory, U can write exams in ur language and give interview in your know language.

but you must atleast understand english by reading, listening etc....

4. Coaching is not necessary..as some aspirants do it without coaching. But coaching greatly enhances your skill, awareness of the subjects, your attitude, preparation etc.Coaching helps one to a great extent.

5. You need to just pass 12th and also a degree from a recognised uinversity or college..

So pehley aapka degree complete kijiye. Iskey saath saath bhi preperation kar sakthey ho aap..

Degree katam honey key samay key andhar aap english mey bhat karna teek sey seekh sakthey ho!

All the best for your goal and leave comments if you any further questions..

hai,i am rajender .now i am in bsc(H)electronics 2nd years, give me some carear option after graduation or post graduation. plz. reply.

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 2 months ago

Hi Rajender!

You are perceiving a good course. You did not mention your type of job preference.

You can think of software if you are in any or near to the major metros in India. This is because most of the electronics now run on software regulation. For this you may try to learn some programming languages besides your 3yrd of degree on part time basis.

You may also go into core electronic manufacture industries like L.G, Godrej etc. But the entry may not be so easy as compared to software option because you may need prior training. If possible see for chances of training in any nearby electronic industries.

Next you may think of central or state govt services as there are electronic technician requirements in most of the government offices, institutes and industries.

For your post graduation, there are many PG courses in your core filed of electronics or else you may divert into related professional courses like bio-medical sciences, material sciences or professional PG's like MCA, MBA etc.

Also check for more choices from respective university websites..

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 2 months ago

Hi Susma,

firstly apologies for delayed reply.......:-)

You are perceiving a relatively good graduation course. For jobs you may just jump into teaching by B.Ed if you like or do M.Sc and go for lecturing. or go for PhD and then settle as a scientist.

Or else after graduation you can think of govt services like Civils as you mentioned, state services etc.

For civils,i recommend

you must be into some job of what ever sort because it helps you stay in profession, provide you some regular schedule, daily discipline and also you will be able to afford any coaching classes, attitude-personality building and also study material by your salary...

Then for subjects, it will be easy if you choose physics as a subject as you are already perceiving in your graduation. Then any other related subject which you feel you can cover it exhaustively....

Also keep a regular habit of reading news papers, magazines, and other important happenings around..

For motivation and guidance keep reading success stories of recent civil toppers...

Hi Shiva, you didn't mention your specialization in BSc..

Do let me know if you wish for clear reply..

And previous comments carry answers for your question of what to do after graduation...

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 2 months ago

Hello Sneha!

The present education trend is not just aimed to make into a good job of same field. One can have many diversions.

You don't like teaching then you can also think of social welfare jobs (for example employments in Indian charities or even international bodies like UNISEF, WHO etc.) , a lawyer, a MBA graduation and into management field, you can even think of journalism, advertisement sector etc or into state or central government service.

Also see your hobbies & your interests into what you think you fit well.

You mention it as a 6 year course; You can utilize your valuable time by doing your regular studies and also looking for other opportunities.

Hi sunil insan! if you want to go for further studies, then think of Joint Admission Test to M Sc, then M.tech. Or else you may learn some programming language and try for software job...

Even there are jobs in govt institutes like those of science, research etc..with eligibility qualification of graduation in electronics and also in some private sectors. If you wish for better job then it might be better to think of higher education as next step.

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 7 weeks ago

Hello Swaroop! It may be best for you to opt for that job than further education like masters unless you can do it in an IIT or reputed institute. As you said getting job is really tough and there are many who after B.Tech struggle for 3 to 5 years to get into job sometimes so why to leave that job. But if you get masters in an IIT or so then i suggest you to go for it as you will get more exposure and chances of even better placement after M.Tech.

One more option is try to do some software courses like SAP etc.Because these courses help you to work as a consultant than a mere programmer in a software company by which you will work with authority and also be paid more..

All the best....

Hello Swaroop! They might have given a hard copy of your job selection with company letter pad and signature. So you have good deal of assurance that you will be called into job. But contact the company personnel regarding your doubts. Hi Sir

I am presently doing my second year B.Sc. Physics. Can you suggest a good master's degree course for me? I am not interested in the teaching, software or research fields. At the end of my course I would have completed 13 papers covering various branches of physics, 4 papers in math, 4 papers in computer applications and programing, 6 papers in English Language, 4 papers in Hindi language and 1 paper in basic accounting. I'm really interested in pusuing a career in the field of math, bioinformatics or law. I would like to have your valuable suggestions please.

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 5 weeks ago

Malavika! M.sc in maths, M.Sc in bioinformatics and MA LLB can be the masters courses to perceive. But after M. Sc maths it seems there are less chances for career other than in teaching or research. After M.Sc bio-informatics again you might have to go into research or teaching but an added option you can avail is to work in a related industry.

MA LLB is suitable to settle in the field of law. You may also try for industry related work with LLB like for insurance companies or research industries to manage intellectual property rights etc...

Hope this helps...

deeaisa 5 weeks ago

Hi Sir,

I am totally struggling to find out a way by which I can make my career in my area of interest. I have done B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engg after 3 years Diploma in the same field. I would like to work as a research engineer / scientist in the area of Space & Satellites. And woull also like to save this year. I mean, I would either like to go for M.Tech or would like to get into organisations like ISRO, IIST. The problem is I am 2007 passout and from then I am presently into IT as Software Engineer in a totally different technology. My situations are I cannot leave the present company without getting into another organisation and I would like to be focussed fully on what best should be the next. Although, I have kept myself in touch with my subjects after BTech, but due to the gap, I am little lagged behind in the group that appears for competitive exams. Now my queries are: 1) M.Tech in Aerospace / Astrophysics is best from which college?

2) M.Tech in Aerospace is possible after BTech in Electronics? (I have seen organisations like IIT Madras, keeping Eligibility as Electrical not Electronics).

3) Taking entrance exams directly after preparing for organisations like ISRO and joining them to save a year?

4) GOing for M.Tech or MS programs outside India? What should be exactly required for it - and what level of struggle is required for it? GRE General, GRE Subject and TOEFL (Reading, Writing and Speaking all 3 exams) are all 3 to be taken? Coaching is required for it or not? This year I can go for all these or not?

I have many questions but I really want a direction so that I can think out and to do the work I love to do.

Best Regards,

Deepti

Malavika! The Common Law Admission Test and individual state level exams are there for entrances. Check for national law universities. They are primary institutes for law education...

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 5 weeks ago

Hello Deepti!

Your desire to perceive career based on interest but not based on just making salary alone is impressive.

As per your queries.

Most IITs offer aerospcae engg for M.Tech. Among available branches in aerospace, some branches like Dynamics & Control in aerospace are offered to those with a degree in B.Tech in electrical/electronic. Check their sites for more...even manipal offers it.You may need to have a valid GATE score for eligibility besides your degree.

For astrophysics, Indian institute of astrophysics is premier one. It offers integrated M.Tech-PhD course with a scholarship. B.Tech in electronics is eligible. Check their site..

Taking entrance for ISRO sort is also a best option as you may directly get practical exposure with a descent salary. Further education can be perceived if required latter.

Going outside India is also good but is very competitive, with reference to scholarships and quality of institute.

GRE general or GRE subject elgibility is decided by the course offering institute in US. For other location you may have to go through TOFEL even. These exams can be written at any time of the year as per your convenience.

Both of these courses are offered only by premier institutes so no need to think much about the quality but you may need to think off the time requirement for completion, financial assistance during the course and chances of job opportunities after the course.

Hope this helps...

Hello Sir

I know my question may be not one of the queries you usually face but here it is - I am presently doing B.Sc Physics (second year) but i would like to do some good course in designing. I am not a person one may call an artist, in the sense I don't paint or sketch. I do a lot of designing on paper like designing layouts and things of that sort. I don't know much about how to use computer software applications for the same. I do a lot of art and craft too. I do a little bit of jewellery designing, handstiching and embroidery and simple crochet as well in addition to glass painting. I would like to know about the courses that I can do in the light of my skills. I would prefer a master's degree course of a duration of 2 years and six months to the maximum. Can you please tell me about the courses in this field, participating institutions and the competitive exams if any?

Thank You and best regards

Hello Payal! you question is not clear to respond specifically. You opt for a career which you think can be suitable to you and also provide some good income..You can perceive PG's like MBA, MCA, Law, MSc, MA etc...Or else try for a job in govt sector of state and central, which requires only graduation as eligibility.

bheem profile image

bheem Hub Author 11 days ago

Bhagya! Plain Forensic science is an ever green scope while cyber forensic is presently gaining demand. So you can choose any of them based on your mental and physical suitability to work in future.

For writing GATE exam, you need to have a graduation of 4 years like B.tech or 5yr like Bsc + Msc. So this same criteria may apply for eligibility for admission to MS in Allahabad. But still inquire for more.

Hope this helps.
